What it does

This skill teaches an AI agent to revise a course that already exists in the OpenMAIC classroom tool. Instead of regenerating content, the agent first lists every page, reads the exact stored data for the page it will change, and makes the smallest possible edit, such as fixing text, moving an element, recoloring a box, repairing a quiz, or reordering pages. It also explains which tool operation fits each kind of request and warns against rewriting whole pages unless the user clearly asks.

Great for

  • Teachers or course authors polishing an existing OpenMAIC course
  • Developers maintaining OpenMAIC classroom content through an agent
  • Anyone who wants targeted fixes that leave the rest of a course untouched

Skip it if

  • Building a brand-new course from scratch, since the skill explicitly does not plan replacement stages (the course must already exist)
  • Editing a course while it is still being generated, because the skill says it is read-only until generation completes
  • Agents outside the OpenMAIC environment, since the tools it names (list_scenes, read_stage, patch_stage, edit_deck, generate_scene) must exist for it to work

Try asking

  • “Fix the typo in the title of page 4 and keep the layout unchanged”
  • “Move the image on slide 3 so it no longer overlaps the text box”
  • “Repair the answer options on the quiz on page 7”
  • “Reorder the deck so the summary page comes last”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Professional Course EditingInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 2 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    pro-editing.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip pro-editing.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip pro-editing.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Ask for specific changes (which page, which element) rather than vague requests like make it better, so the agent can plan concrete edits
  • Say explicitly if you want a whole page rebuilt, since the skill reserves full regeneration for that case
  • Wait until course generation has finished before asking for edits
