What it does

This skill teaches an AI agent to check the facts in a course or supplied content. When building a course, it reads every finished page and corrects obvious errors before delivery. When reviewing existing content, it reads the pages, picks out the claims most likely to be wrong (numbers, dates, laws, absolute statements, contradictions), checks them against sources and web searches, and returns a short report with suggested fixes. It asks the user before changing approved inputs or when edits were not already requested.

Great for

  • Teachers or course creators who want accurate, reliable AI-generated lessons
  • Reviewers who need a short, evidence-backed check of an existing course
  • Anyone using the OpenMAIC course-building workflow who wants fewer hallucinations

Skip it if

  • Grammar, style, or layout checks, which the skill explicitly excludes
  • Content where web search is unavailable and the facts are specialist or current, since the agent may then only mark uncertainty rather than verify
  • Final legal, medical, or safety sign-off, because the agent's verification is not a substitute for expert review

Try asking

  • “Fact-check this course and tell me which claims look wrong”
  • “Review pages 3 to 8 for exact numbers, dates and legal references”
  • “Build a reliable course on this topic and correct any factual errors before delivery”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    fact-check.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip fact-check.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip fact-check.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Supply your own source documents or URLs so the agent verifies against them rather than only general knowledge
  • Narrow the scope (for example, specific pages) to get a faster, more focused report
  • Review the findings before approving changes, especially for approved inputs flagged as possibly wrong
