How to use it

  1. 1Enter fixed costs for the period (rent, salaries, tools).
  2. 2Enter the price per unit and the variable cost per unit.
  3. 3Optionally add a profit target.
  4. 4Read the break-even units and revenue, and see where revenue crosses total cost on the chart.

FAQ

What is contribution margin?

Price minus variable cost per unit — the amount each sale contributes towards fixed costs and then profit.

Why does it say I can never break even?

Your variable cost per unit is equal to or higher than the price, so each sale loses money. Raise the price or cut unit costs.
