Content calendar workflow
Plan a month of content from goals and pillars, with formats per channel, a realistic cadence and a production schedule you can actually keep.
Fill in your details
Values are inserted into every prompt below. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
7 field(s) left — unfilled variables stay as {{placeholders}}.
1Set pillars and capacity
Be honest about capacity. A calendar you can't keep is worse than a small one you can.
Help me plan content for {{month}}. Business: {{business}} Audience: {{audience}} Goals for this month: {{goals}} Channels: {{channels}} Realistic capacity (pieces per week we can produce): {{cadence}} Content pillars (themes we talk about): {{pillars}} First, check: is this cadence realistic across these channels? If not, suggest which channel to drop or reduce. Then propose the mix: what share of content per pillar and per goal (awareness / trust / conversion), and which formats suit each channel.2Build the calendar
Paste the output into a spreadsheet or your planning tool.
Create the calendar as a table: Date | Channel | Pillar | Format | Working title or hook | Goal | Call to action | Repurposed from (if any). Rules: one "hero" piece per week that other posts are cut from; no more than two promotional posts in a row; include relevant dates in {{month}} only if they genuinely fit the business; leave one open slot per week for reactive content.3Production schedule
Work backwards from publish dates so drafting and approvals don't pile up.
For each hero piece, give a production schedule working back from its publish date: draft due, review due, assets due, scheduled. Then list everything that needs input from someone else (quotes, approvals, photos) with the date I need it by.
Example input
Bike repair shop, November, Instagram + email + Google Business Profile, 4 pieces a week.
Example output
| 3 Nov | Email | Maintenance tips | Newsletter | "5 things that wreck your bike in winter" | Trust | Book a winter service | Hero | | 4 Nov | Instagram | Maintenance tips | Reel | "Your chain after one wet week vs after cleaning" | Awareness | Save this | Hero | | 6 Nov | Google Business Profile | Offers | Offer post | Winter service £10 off until 30 Nov | Conversion | Book | — |
Troubleshooting
- Calendar is too ambitious: halve the cadence and make every second post a repurpose.
Known limitations
- Seasonal dates and trends suggested by the model may be wrong for your region; check them.
