What it does
This skill gives an AI agent a map of the data structure behind an OpenMAIC online classroom: stages, pages (called scenes), quizzes, interactive widgets, playback actions, and project-based learning pages. With it loaded, the agent knows which tool to use (read, search, or patch a specific field), how to address a page, and how to make small, verified edits instead of rewriting whole pages. It points to separate reference chapters for quizzes, widgets, actions and project pages.
Great for
- Developers building or maintaining OpenMAIC courses with an AI agent
- Teachers or course authors using an agent to revise existing classroom pages
- Anyone who needs an agent to find and replace wording across a stage
Skip it if
- People who only want to use OpenMAIC as a learner or teacher without editing its files, since the skill is only useful for editing stage data
- Situations where the agent has write access to a live classroom with real learners and no review step, because a bad patch can corrupt visible course content
Try asking
- “Find every place the old course name appears in this stage and replace it with the new one”
- “Change the answer options of question 2 in the quiz on page 4”
- “Update the title of the milestone in the project page on page 6 and check the change saved”
- “Show me the structure of this stage so I can find the widget on page 3”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Always ask the agent to read the exact source of a page before editing, and to re-read it afterwards to confirm the change.
- Use search for copy checks and prefer small text replacements over rewriting long HTML fields.
- Review the agent's stated intent for each patch, since writes apply directly to the stage document.
