What it does

This is a management tool for other skills. Once installed, you can type commands like /skill list, /skill add, /skill edit, /skill search or /skill remove, and the agent will read, create, change or delete skill folders (each a SKILL.md file) in your user or project skill directories. It walks you through questions step by step, asks for confirmation before deleting, and never removes bundled built-in skills.

Great for

  • Developers using oh-my-claudecode who want to create and tidy up their own custom skills without hand-editing files
  • Teams keeping project-specific skills in a .omc/skills folder inside a repository

Skip it if

  • People who have never used Claude Code or oh-my-claudecode, since it only makes sense inside that setup
  • Anyone who wants to edit built-in skills: the file says these are read-only and cannot be removed or edited through this tool

Try asking

  • “/skill list to see every skill available in my user and project scopes”
  • “/skill add to create a new skill called custom-logger with triggers for logging”
  • “/skill search typescript error to find existing skills that mention TypeScript errors”
  • “/skill remove old-logger to delete an unused skill after confirming”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Local Skill ManagerInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    skill.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip skill.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip skill.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Use /skill info or /skill search before /skill remove so you know exactly what will be deleted
  • Keep descriptions short and specific so the agent picks the right skill when triggered
  • Review skill files after /skill add or /skill edit, since deleted skill directories cannot be recovered by this tool
