What it does

This skill gives an AI agent a set of reference patterns for building Java back-end services with the Quarkus framework. When you ask for help with a Quarkus project, the agent follows the layered style shown in the file (resource, service, repository), uses constructor injection and Lombok logging, wraps write operations in transactions, and sets up event-driven messaging with Apache Camel and RabbitMQ. It is a set of coding conventions and code examples, not a program you run.

Great for

  • Java developers building cloud-native or event-driven services with Quarkus
  • Teams that already use Apache Camel, RabbitMQ, Hibernate Panache or GraalVM and want consistent code from an agent
  • Developers who want an agent to follow a documented layered architecture

Skip it if

  • Projects that do not use Quarkus or Java (the patterns will not apply, and the agent may force them in)
  • Production systems without review: the examples are illustrative and the file contains a truncated code sample, so generated code must be checked against your own dependencies and security rules
  • Non-developers looking for a general tool; it only changes how an agent writes Quarkus code

Try asking

  • “Create a REST resource and service for orders using Quarkus RESTEasy Reactive and Panache”
  • “Add a Camel route that publishes business-rule messages to RabbitMQ”
  • “Set up Logback with a Logstash JSON encoder and per-request log context for a Quarkus service”
  • “Refactor a service to validate input before persistence and record success or error events”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    quarkus-patterns.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip quarkus-patterns.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip quarkus-patterns.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Name the Quarkus version and the libraries you already use, so the agent does not add dependencies you do not have.
  • Ask the agent to adapt the sample classes (OrderService, EventService) to your own domain and review the generated transaction and error-handling code.
  • Check the agent's output against the official Quarkus and Camel documentation before deploying, since the patterns are opinionated examples.
