What it does
When you face a fuzzy choice with several reasonable options, such as monorepo vs polyrepo or ship now vs wait, this skill makes the agent weigh in from four viewpoints: its own, a skeptic, a pragmatist, and a critic. Three of the viewpoints are run as separate sub-agents that see only the question and relevant context, so the agent's earlier reasoning does not bias them. The agent then gives a short verdict that shows where the views agree, the strongest disagreement, and a recommended path.
Great for
- Developers or product leads weighing architectural or release trade-offs
- People who want a deliberate challenge to their own leaning before a go/no-go call
- Teams who want a compact, scannable decision summary
Skip it if
- Code review or bug finding, since the skill says to use code-reviewer or santa-method instead
- Straightforward implementation tasks or factual questions, which add cost without value
- Decisions that need a verified correct answer rather than an opinion mix; the skill is for ambiguity, not checking output
Try asking
- “Should we go monorepo or polyrepo for our three services? Run the council.”
- “Ship the beta now or hold it for more polish? Convene the council and give me a verdict.”
- “Feature flag rollout versus full deployment for the checkout change: get a four-voice view.”
- “Simplify scope or keep the strategic breadth for the next quarter? Use the council.”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give a clear single question with constraints and success criteria; the skill asks for one clarification if the question is vague.
- Keep context compact: include only the snippets or constraints that change the answer, since sub-agents receive no conversation history.
- Use it for genuine trade-offs, and treat the Strongest dissent line as the part most worth reading.
