What it does

Once installed, the agent answers integration-architecture questions with structured designs: webhook payload formats and signature checks, endpoint lists for registering webhooks, multi-step API call chains, CloudEvents-style event schemas, topic tables, saga and outbox patterns, and a reliability checklist covering retries, idempotency keys, circuit breakers and dead-letter queues. It is guidance and design output only; the SKILL.md itself contains no scripts or commands that call external services.

Great for

  • Backend developers planning webhook or event-driven features between services
  • Engineers designing payment or order flows that span several APIs and need retries and compensation steps
  • Teams writing an integration design doc who want a checklist of reliability patterns

Skip it if

  • Anyone expecting the agent to actually connect to or test a live third-party system: the skill only describes designs, and its own handoff notes a design is not evidence that an integration or payment ran
  • Payment-critical production changes made without review: the example code and retry/signature guidance are generic and must be checked against the provider's current protocol and security requirements

Try asking

  • “Design a webhook system that notifies customers when an order is created, including signature and retry behaviour”
  • “Map the API calls needed to create an order and charge a payment, with failure handling at each step”
  • “Propose Kafka or Pub/Sub topics and retention periods for orders, payments and user events”
  • “Outline a saga with compensating steps for a checkout flow that can fail at payment”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    api-integration.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip api-integration.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip api-integration.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give the agent your actual services, providers and existing event names so the topic and schema tables match your system instead of the generic examples.
  • Ask for the security checks explicitly (timestamp window, replay protection, payload size limits) since the skill notes these must be added to signature verification.
  • Treat the output as a design draft and have an engineer review it before implementing; test against a sandbox or authorised test endpoint.
