What it does
When installed, the agent first judges whether a request is simple enough to handle directly; if it is, it just does the work. For complex, multi-domain requests, it looks through the skills available locally, and if needed fetches a remote catalog of community skills, then picks a minimal set to use. It can also save successful skill combinations to an optional external memory tool (agent-memory-mcp) and recall them later.
Great for
- Developers working on large, multi-part projects who don't know which skills to use
- Teams that already have many skills installed and want help choosing among them
- People who want the agent to avoid over-engineering small edits
Skip it if
- Simple, single-step tasks, since the skill itself says to skip it for those (it adds overhead with no benefit)
- Environments where fetching remote catalogs or writing to memory is not allowed, because it depends on both by design; it can continue without memory but still relies on the remote catalog when local skills fall short
- Anyone expecting it to create new skills; the file explicitly forbids that
Try asking
- “Build a checkout flow with a React frontend, Node backend and PostgreSQL database, and pick the right skills for each part”
- “Find skills suited to deploying a multi-service app and use only the minimal set needed”
- “Use the best tools for the job on this data pipeline refactor”
- “Recall which skill combinations worked for a previous e-commerce task”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give a clear description of the task and its domains so the agent can judge whether it is complex enough to need skills at all.
- Review which remote catalog or memory writes the agent proposes, especially where private project details could be stored; the skill says to exclude secrets and honor memory policy.
- Treat recalled combinations as suggestions to verify, not proven solutions, since the skill notes they are not evidence of current correctness.
