What it does
When installed, the agent gets step-by-step guidance for creating hosted AI agents on Microsoft Azure AI Foundry. These are agents packaged as your own container image and deployed to Azure, with the Python Azure AI Projects SDK. The skill covers prerequisites (container registry access, permissions, SDK version), authentication, creating, listing and deleting agent versions, and setting CPU, memory and environment variables. It is mainly instructions and code sketches; it does not itself deploy anything without you running the code.
Great for
- Python developers already working with Azure AI Foundry who need to deploy a custom container as a hosted agent
- Teams wanting a reference for the HostedAgentDefinition parameters and provisioning steps
Skip it if
- Anyone not using Azure AI Foundry, since it only covers that platform and SDK
- Provisioning in production without review: the skill itself warns that documentation review is not a cloud integration test and that the installed SDK and service support must be validated first, and creating agents can incur cloud costs and expose network endpoints
Try asking
- “Create a hosted agent in my Azure AI project using my reviewed container image from ACR”
- “Show me how to list and delete versions of my hosted agent”
- “Set CPU and memory for a container-based Foundry agent and pass environment variables safely”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip agents-v2-py.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip agents-v2-py.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Validate the installed SDK version and regional hosted-agent availability before provisioning, as the skill advises
- Use a reviewed, immutable container image reference and keep secrets in the platform's protected injection mechanism, not in plain environment variables
