What it does
When you explicitly ask, the agent searches the Agentic Awesome Skills catalog for skills that match your task, reads their full instructions and supporting files, and reports back which candidates look relevant, what setup they need, where they come from, and their stated risk level. It is a research step: it does not install anything or change your local files, and it does not run any retrieved scripts. The skill notes that search matches do not prove a skill is suitable.
Great for
- Developers who want to find a suitable AAS skill for a specific coding task before deciding whether to install it
- Teams reviewing candidate agent skills and wanting provenance and setup requirements compared side by side
Skip it if
- Ordinary tasks unrelated to finding skills, since the skill says it should only activate when explicitly requested
- Anyone expecting automatic installation or quality ratings, because it deliberately avoids invented scores and installs nothing; reading retrieved scripts as text is also not a substitute for a security review
Try asking
- “Find AAS skills to debug a React authentication bug and test the fix”
- “Search the AAS catalog for skills that help write database migrations, and compare their setup requirements”
- “Show me candidate AAS skills for accessibility audits with their risk levels and sources”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Be explicit in your request that you want AAS skill discovery, since the skill will not activate for unrelated tasks
- Give a specific task description so search terms are focused; ask it to paginate or refine if results are weak
- Review the provenance and declared setup of any candidate yourself before installing it, as the skill itself does not verify installation or approval
