What it does

Once installed, the agent can save key findings, decisions, architecture notes and debugging lessons into a project-local folder of markdown pages, then search and cite those pages in later sessions instead of starting from scratch. It can also run health checks that flag orphan pages, stale content and broken cross-references, and it can automatically record significant discoveries at the end of a session if that option is enabled.

Great for

  • Developers who work on the same codebase over many sessions and want project context to persist
  • Teams that want decisions and architecture notes kept as plain markdown files under version control
  • Anyone who wants an LLM-maintained notebook they can read and edit by hand

Skip it if

  • Large knowledge bases needing semantic search, since the skill uses only keyword and tag matching with no vector embeddings, so results may miss relevant pages phrased differently
  • Sensitive projects where auto-captured session notes could record secrets or private details without review, since auto-capture is enabled by default
  • Users who expect wiki pages to be shared automatically, since pages are git-ignored by default in the project folder

Try asking

  • “wiki this: save what we just learned about the payment retry logic as an architecture page”
  • “wiki query authentication flow, with citations to the relevant pages”
  • “wiki lint to check the knowledge base for orphan pages and broken links”
  • “wiki add a decision record explaining why we chose PostgreSQL”
Step-by-step guide: how to use LLM Wiki Knowledge BaseInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    wiki.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip wiki.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip wiki.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Review auto-captured session-log pages periodically, or disable wiki.autoCapture in .omc-config.json if you do not want automatic notes
  • Use consistent tags and categories (architecture, decision, pattern, debugging, environment, session-log) so queries return useful matches
  • Commit .omc/wiki/ to git deliberately if the team should share it, since it is git-ignored by default
