What it does

This skill teaches an AI agent how to place outgoing phone calls and check on them using the Brigade voice-call plugin. Once installed, the agent can start a call with a spoken message, continue or end an active call, and report its status, through either a command-line tool or a built-in calling action. It relies on a telephony provider (Twilio, Telnyx, or Plivo) that you configure yourself, or a mock mode that makes no real calls for testing.

Great for

  • Developers building voice notifications or reminders into a Brigade setup
  • Operators who want an agent to phone a number with a short automated message
  • Teams testing call flows safely using the mock provider before going live

Skip it if

  • Anyone who does not want the agent placing real phone calls, since calls may cost money and reach real people
  • Sensitive or unsupervised calling, because a misfired instruction would call a real number without review
  • Users without a Twilio, Telnyx, or Plivo account, since real calls need one of those providers

Try asking

  • “Call +15555550123 and say 'Your build finished successfully.'”
  • “Check the status of call ID abc123 and tell me if it has connected.”
  • “End the active call abc123 now.”
  • “Set up the voice-call plugin with the mock provider so we can test calls without network access.”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    voice-call.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip voice-call.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip voice-call.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Start with provider set to mock to confirm your message and flow work before enabling a real provider.
  • Keep provider credentials in plugin configuration rather than in chat messages, and rotate them if they are exposed.
  • Always confirm the destination number and message text before asking the agent to place a call.
