What it does

Once installed, the agent can keep a list of blogs and RSS or Atom feeds you care about, check them for new posts, list unread articles, and mark them as read. It does this by running the blogwatcher command-line tool on your computer rather than guessing what a site contains. Think of it as a personal feed reader the agent can operate for you.

Great for

  • People who follow many blogs or news sites and want a quick summary of what's new
  • Developers or researchers who track release notes or technical blogs through RSS
  • Marketers or journalists monitoring competitor or industry blogs

Skip it if

  • Sites that offer no RSS or Atom feed, since the tool depends on feeds to detect updates
  • Users who cannot install a Go-based command-line tool on their machine

Try asking

  • “Add the blog https://example.com as "Example" to my blog watcher”
  • “Scan my tracked blogs and tell me what new articles were published”
  • “List my unread articles from the blogs I follow”
  • “Mark all of my blog articles as read”

    Ask for the task

No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Run blogwatcher --help first so the agent knows the available flags before you rely on it.
  • Give blogs clear names when adding them, since you refer to them by name when removing or reviewing them.
  • Ask the agent to scan before listing articles so you see the latest updates.
