What it does

This skill guides an AI agent through writing structured UX design documents for a video game: a spec for a single screen or player flow, a HUD design, an interaction pattern library, or project-wide accessibility requirements. The agent asks what you are designing, reads your existing player journey and project docs for context, then fills in each section of a template one at a time, saving progress as it goes so work survives interruptions. It also checks cross-references with related docs and suggests which specialist roles to coordinate with.

Great for

  • Game designers and UX leads writing per-screen specs for a game project that uses this studio's file layout
  • Small teams who want consistent HUD, interaction pattern, and accessibility documents produced from templates

Skip it if

  • Non-game UI or web product design, since the templates and mode names assume a game project structure (reason: the output paths and guides are game-specific)
  • Projects that do not keep design docs in the expected design/ and docs/ folders, since the agent will create or look for files in those locations and results may be misplaced

Try asking

  • “Write a UX spec for the main menu”
  • “Design the game HUD section by section”
  • “Create the project-wide accessibility requirements document”
  • “Build the interaction pattern library for the game”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 8 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    ux-design.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip ux-design.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip ux-design.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Name the screen or mode directly as the argument (for example main-menu or hud) to skip the question step
  • Set the workflow and docs.density settings in your project config to control how many screens are specced and how detailed each section is
  • Review each section as it is written, since the agent asks for approval and saves approved sections incrementally
