What it does

When invoked, the agent reads your story backlog (stories marked Ready under production/epics), the previous sprint's file, and any design docs, then drafts a sprint plan with a goal, capacity buffer, prioritized Must/Should/Nice-to-Have task tables, carryover from unfinished work, and a risk table. It is built for game projects using the Claude Code Game Studios framework, and it can run director-review gates before the plan is written.

Great for

  • Game developers running sprints who already have stories written under production/epics
  • Producers or leads who want a first-draft sprint plan based on existing backlog status

Skip it if

  • Projects without a story backlog: the skill stops and tells you to run /create-stories first, since it will not invent work items
  • Teams outside the Claude Code Game Studios structure, because it expects specific folders, hooks and companion commands that the file does not provide

Try asking

  • “/sprint-plan new”
  • “/sprint-plan update”
  • “/sprint-plan status --review lean”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Sprint Plan BuilderInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    sprint-plan.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip sprint-plan.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip sprint-plan.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Run /create-stories before this skill so there is a Ready backlog to plan from.
  • Use --review solo or lean for quick drafts; full review spawns an extra producer feasibility agent.
  • Expect the skill to avoid writing review-mode settings; change modes.rigor via /settings if you want a persistent change.
