What it does

This skill sets up a shared Slack group chat where a human and two or more AI bots (NanoClaw sibling bots) can talk to each other. By default, Slack bots ignore messages from other bots; this skill opens that up only for rooms listed in a config setting, tags those messages as coming from a bot, and stops the bots after a set number of back-to-back bot messages until a human speaks. It also includes a command-line script that creates such a room and records its ID in the config file.

Great for

  • Developers running several NanoClaw Slack bots who want them to coordinate in a shared channel
  • Operators who need a human-supervised room where bots hand off tasks to each other

Skip it if

  • Single-bot setups, since the skill requires at least two Slack bot identities and adds nothing otherwise
  • Public or shared workspaces where bot-to-bot traffic could expose data or trigger unintended actions, because admitted bot messages are trusted by the router

Try asking

  • “Set up an agent-to-agent Slack room between my two NanoClaw bots dana and eli with me included”
  • “Open a bots-only Slack room for three instances and register it in SLACK_A2A_ROOMS”
  • “Change the bot-to-bot loop limit so bots stop after 4 consecutive messages without a human reply”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 4 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    slack-a2a-rooms.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip slack-a2a-rooms.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip slack-a2a-rooms.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Run the build and test steps after applying so the policy is validated against the installed Slack channel before you rely on it.
  • Keep SLACK_A2A_ROOMS limited to rooms you intend bots to talk in, and keep SLACK_A2A_MAX_HOPS low to contain loops.
  • Include a human in the room so the hop counter resets and you can supervise the conversation.
