What it does
Once you explicitly opt in to automatic capture, the agent scans your substantive messages for two things: your own original ideas, observations and frameworks, and mentions of people, companies or media. It saves ideas using your exact wording and creates or updates pages for entities in a GBrain knowledge store, adding links and dated timeline notes. It writes a short log line summarising what was captured. Without opt-in, it is designed to do nothing.
Great for
- Developers already running GBrain who want a running record of their own thinking
- Researchers or writers who want ideas and contacts captured as they talk
- Teams experimenting with consent-based memory for AI agents
Skip it if
- Anyone who has not clearly opted in: the skill is designed to write nothing without consent, but it could capture private conversation content if misconfigured
- Sensitive or confidential discussions, since captured text is stored verbatim in pages and the agent's behaviour depends on harness conventions rather than enforced guarantees
- Environments without GBrain installed, since the tools it calls (search, put_page, timeline-add) come from that system
Try asking
- “Turn on automatic capture for this brain, limited to my product-strategy chats, and confirm the scope.”
- “Capture the framework I just described about pricing as an original idea.”
- “Turn off automatic capture and stop saving anything from my messages.”
- “Remember that Jane Doe is the CTO of Acme, and record the date we met.”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Set the capture scope explicitly on first activation so you know what is recorded.
- Check the brain pages it creates periodically, since captured text is verbatim.
- Use chat-only instructions for sensitive messages you do not want saved; they suppress capture for that message only.
