What it does

This skill connects the agent to an organization's central 'brain', a searchable store of company docs, shared channel knowledge, and notes from other agents. Once installed, the agent searches it before answering questions about people, projects, decisions, or history, and saves durable conclusions back into the brain under its own namespace and the channels it belongs to. It can only read sources it is entitled to and only write to permitted prefixes; the server enforces this.

Great for

  • Teams running multi-agent deployments that share an org knowledge base
  • Operators who provision per-employee and per-channel agent access
  • Staff who want agents to remember decisions across sessions and users

Skip it if

  • Individuals without access to a gbrain server, since the setup requires organization-issued OAuth credentials
  • Anyone wanting a standalone personal notes tool, because it depends on a central remote brain
  • Sensitive contexts where persisting agent-written conclusions to shared channels could spread unverified or confidential information

Try asking

  • “Who decided on the database choice for the billing project and why?”
  • “Search the brain for the onboarding handbook section on expense approvals.”
  • “Save the conclusions from today's architecture discussion to the engineering channel's decisions page.”
  • “Check whether my gbrain connection is working and which scopes it is using.”
Step-by-step guide: how to use gbrain Company Brain AccessInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 3 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    qm-harness-snippets.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip qm-harness-snippets.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip qm-harness-snippets.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Run gbrain whoami first to confirm the connection and scopes before relying on search results.
  • Write only durable conclusions, not chat transcripts, and keep one page per entity or decision to avoid duplicates.
  • Treat the OAuth client secret as a credential: pass it via --oauth-client-secret so it persists to the config file, and never paste it into shared chats or logs.

What's inside

  • provision-scopes.sh
  • SKILL.md
  • tool.json
