What it does

This skill teaches an AI agent to take a large collection of short concept pages (ideas it has noted from your notes, articles or voice memos) and clean them up. The agent merges duplicates, scores each idea by how often and how long it recurs, and labels it Canon, Developing, Speculative or Riff. For the top ideas it writes a synthesis showing how the idea evolved, plus a master README map. A final Phase 5 pass gives each concept a keep, merge, rewrite or delete verdict, with merges designed to be reversible.

Great for

  • People who have accumulated hundreds or thousands of auto-generated concept or idea pages and want them organised
  • Knowledge workers who want to see which of their recurring ideas matter most over time
  • Users of the gbrain knowledge-base system who want a curated concept map

Skip it if

  • Small note collections with only a handful of concepts, where the scoring adds little value
  • Anyone who wants automatic deletion without review: the cull pass issues verdicts that can remove or merge pages, so results should be checked before bulk changes
  • Public or reputational content decisions: the skill itself flags reputational risk, but judgments about what to publish still need a human

Try asking

  • “Synthesize my concepts and show me which ones are canon versus riffs”
  • “Find patterns across my notes and build my intellectual map”
  • “Trace idea evolution for my concept pages over the last two years”
  • “Cull my concepts and tell me which to keep, merge or delete”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Concept SynthesisInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    concept-synthesis.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip concept-synthesis.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip concept-synthesis.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Run the cull pass on a test subset first, as the skill's own convention recommends, and review verdicts before any bulk merge or delete
  • Keep backups or version history of your concept folder before running it, since it rewrites pages and adds backlinks
  • Check the tier assignments and grounding labels yourself, because scores are heuristics based on mention counts and timespans
