What it does
This skill teaches the agent how a skill folder should be structured: a SKILL.md file with a short header describing the skill, plus optional supporting files. It explains where skills live, how to name them, and how to bundle the folder into a tar.gz archive for someone else to unpack. It also gives a checklist to confirm the folder is correct before sharing.
Great for
- Developers who write their own agent skills and want to share them with teammates or the community
- Anyone packaging a skill folder into an archive for hand-off
- Teams standardising how their internal skills are laid out and versioned
Skip it if
- People who only want to use existing skills and never create or share them; this skill adds little for them
- Anyone expecting it to write the skill's actual content; the companion skill-creator covers authoring, and this one covers layout and packaging
- Sharing skills that contain secrets: the archive bundles the whole folder, so credentials or private files in it would travel with it
Try asking
- “Package my skills/invoice-checker folder into a tar.gz I can send to a colleague”
- “Check that my SKILL.md frontmatter name matches its folder name before I share it”
- “Explain the SKILL.md format and which eligibility keys I need for a skill that requires an API token”
- “Set up a CHANGELOG for my skill so recipients can tell versions apart”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run the pre-share checklist in the file before every hand-off, especially the name-equals-folder-name rule.
- Review the whole folder for secrets or private data before archiving, since everything inside gets bundled.
- Omit eligibility keys like requires-env unless they reflect a real requirement, so recipients are not blocked for no reason.
