What it does

Once installed, the agent can check a website's XML sitemap (the file that lists pages for search engines) for common errors such as broken or redirected URLs, noindexed pages, wrong lastmod dates, size limits and deprecated tags. It can also generate new sitemaps and sitemap index files from an industry template, and it writes a validation report. It runs a bundled helper script to find sitemaps declared in robots.txt and probes common sitemap paths, and it is instructed to treat fetched web content as untrusted data rather than commands.
