What it does

Once installed, the agent can run a structured security review of a game project before release. It checks for ways players could tamper with save files, cheat in multiplayer, exploit network traffic, expose data, or slip unvalidated input through. It works by spawning a security-engineer sub-agent that greps the code with engine-specific patterns, then writes a prioritised report with severity ratings and a remediation plan to a production/security folder.

Great for

  • Game developers preparing a public or multiplayer release
  • Teams using the Claude Code Game Studios template who need a release-gate security report
  • Developers who added a feature that reads from disk or network and want a quick review

Skip it if

  • Production-grade penetration testing: it is a pattern-based code review and can miss issues or report false positives
  • Projects without a set engine name, since categories without sourced patterns are marked NOT ASSESSED
  • Single-player projects expecting a fast pass: multiplayer scope is assumed when unconfirmed, so ratings can be stricter than needed

Try asking

  • “Run a full security audit before we release the game to Steam”
  • “Quick security check on the save system only”
  • “Audit the network code for multiplayer cheat vectors”
  • “Check input validation across the project”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Security Audit for Game ProjectsInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    security-audit.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip security-audit.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip security-audit.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Set platform.multiplayer and platform.online explicitly with /settings so the network category is scoped correctly
  • Run the full scope before release, and quick scope during iterative development
  • Review findings yourself: the scan is grep-based and severity ratings should be checked against your game's real threat model
