What it does

When you ask it to preserve what was learned during a working session, the agent reviews the findings and sorts each one: durable project facts, temporary working notes, your preferences, or duplicate and conflicting information. It then proposes where each item should go (project memory, a short-term notepad, or an instructions file such as AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md), writes only to the appropriate place, and lists what was stored, where, and any conflicts to clean up.

Great for

  • Developers who work with an AI agent over many sessions and want project knowledge kept outside chat history
  • Teams maintaining shared project memory or convention files that should stay concise and accurate
  • Users who want the agent to flag stale or contradictory notes before they pile up

Skip it if

  • One-off tasks where nothing needs to persist, since it adds memory writes with no lasting benefit
  • Situations where the memory files are not reviewed: the agent may store uncertain items or misplace them, so unchecked writes can clutter or mislead future sessions
  • Storing secrets or sensitive data: the skill does not say how such content is filtered, so it should be kept out of memory files

Try asking

  • “Remember the key build and test commands we discovered today and save them to the right place”
  • “Review this session and tell me which findings belong in project memory versus temporary notes”
  • “Check our CLAUDE.md and notepad for duplicate or conflicting entries and suggest cleanup”
  • “Save the coding conventions you learned from my feedback as durable project instructions”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    remember.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip remember.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip remember.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Review the proposed destinations before the agent writes, especially for anything going into durable docs or instruction files
  • Ask the agent to mark uncertain items explicitly so unverified facts are not stored as truth
  • Run it at the end of a session rather than mid-task so the findings are complete
