What it does

When an agent hits a surprising failure, undocumented behaviour, or writes a workaround while using Prisma 8, Prisma Compute, or Prisma Postgres from the outside, this skill makes it record that friction. It appends a short entry to a local gotchas log and files a Triage-state ticket in the matching Linear project, then cross-links the two. Inside Prisma product-team repos it offers the operator three options instead of silently recording.

Great for

  • Prisma team members who want consumer-side friction captured consistently
  • Developers building extensions, example apps, or customer reproductions on Prisma products who want a shared record of rough edges

Skip it if

  • Bugs in code your own team maintains, since the skill says those belong in the normal product backlog
  • Projects that do not use Prisma's Linear workspace, because it requires the Linear MCP plugin and access to specific Prisma Linear projects

Try asking

  • “I hit a surprising CLI result while writing a Prisma extension; record it as a gotcha”
  • “Log the workaround I just wrote for the Prisma Compute deploy step”
  • “Capture this unexpected Prisma Postgres dialect behaviour from my integration test”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Record Prisma GotchasInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    record-gotcha.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip record-gotcha.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip record-gotcha.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Use it when the friction is from the consumer side; fixes to code you maintain should go through normal bug filing
  • Keep a docs/*-gotchas.md file in your repo so entries are appended locally rather than to the root gotchas.md
