What it does
This skill teaches the agent how to get a finished game mod ready for public release. It runs a pre-release check (the um publish check command) that looks for problems such as copied game files, decompiled code, leaked API keys and .env files. It then guides packaging for the specific platform (Nexus Mods, Steam Workshop, Thunderstore, mod.io, GitHub, and others), writes a README with credits and AI disclosure, sets up versioning and a changelog, and drafts the launch post.
Great for
- Game modders preparing their first public upload to Nexus Mods, Steam Workshop or Thunderstore
- Creators who built a mod with an AI agent and want an honest credits and disclosure section
- Modders who want a pre-release checklist to avoid leaking keys or redistributing game files
Skip it if
- Non-game software or apps, since the platform guidance only covers game mods and ROM or GameMaker patches (the reason: the lint and packaging rules are game-specific)
- Anyone who wants the agent to publish automatically, since the skill says publishing is always the user's decision and should be done by the user pressing the button (the reason: uploads are public and hard to undo)
Try asking
- “Run the pre-release check on my mod folder at ./MyMod for the game install at C:/Games/Example and tell me what to fix”
- “Package my BepInEx mod for Thunderstore with the right manifest.json and icon”
- “Write a README for my Nexus Mod that includes install steps and the fal and AI credits”
- “Draft a launch post for my mod using the showcase video, and show it to me before I publish”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Point the lint at your mod folder and pass the real game install path so it can detect game files that were copied in by mistake; fix every FAIL before uploading.
- Ask the agent to draft the README, credits and changelog, then review the AI disclosure yourself so it names the actual agent and models you used.
- Upload manually after reviewing the draft, since the skill keeps publishing as the user's own step.
