What it does

Once installed, the agent walks through a full modding workflow for a PC game you own: it checks the game's engine, mod loaders and anti-cheat, picks the least invasive way to add your idea, backs up your saves, reads the game's code and data, builds a small working slice, verifies it in the real game with screenshots and input automation, and can cut a showcase video. It also generates art and sound through the fal service and keeps a journal of its progress.

Great for

  • Hobbyist modders who want an idea (a new weapon, enemy, or unit) built and tested in an offline single-player game
  • Developers learning how mod loaders, decompiled code and game data fit together
  • Creators who want a recorded proof-of-concept clip of a mod

Skip it if

  • Online or competitive games with anti-cheat: the skill itself says not to mod the client there, and doing so can get accounts banned
  • Games you do not own: the skill is framed around mods for games the user owns, and reverse engineering may breach a licence or law
  • Users expecting a one-click install: it relies on a CLI tool, external loaders, and often manual setup per game

Try asking

  • “Add homing missiles and a nuke to my Terraria world using tModLoader”
  • “Make a new civilization for Age of Empires II with custom 3D-rendered units”
  • “Can I mod this game? Check its engine and anti-cheat first”
  • “Put Minecraft inside a GTA V scene and record a 30 second showcase clip”

    mod-any-game.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip mod-any-game.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip mod-any-game.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Start with an offline game or a private server you run, and keep pristine copies of your saves and test worlds before any modded launch
  • Give a one-sentence idea and a clear definition of done, such as a working in-game item plus a 20-45 second clip
  • Check the MODLOG.md journal and the publish check (um publish check) before sharing any mod, so no game files or secrets leak
