What it does
When installed, the agent can take an existing Python recipe in the google/adk-recipes repository and bring it up to the repository's standards in one guided run. It works through eight ordered phases: generating manifest.yaml, extracting environment variables, aligning pyproject.toml, linting with ruff, regenerating uv.lock, creating a runnability test, compiling and running that test, and finally running the repo's own validators. It pauses to ask a human when something is ambiguous, and it leaves placeholder ownership fields for the user to fill in and never commits changes.
Great for
- Contributors preparing a new Python recipe for a pull request to google/adk-recipes
- Maintainers updating an existing recipe so it passes the python-validate-recipe CI workflow
Skip it if
- Anyone outside the ADK recipes repository, since it depends on that repo's paths, workflows and validators
- Users who have not completed the manual prerequisites (venv deactivated, git pull, uv sync, recipe placed and committed), because the skill tells them to stop and do those steps first
Try asking
- “Prepare my recipe under core/python/my-agent so it is PR-ready”
- “Run all the checks and fixes on the contrib/python recipe I just moved”
- “Update this recipe end to end and tell me what still needs a human”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Complete the manual prerequisites first and commit the original recipe so git diff shows exactly what the skill changed.
- Review the git diff after the run; the skill never commits, and ownership placeholders must be replaced by a human before CI will pass.
- Expect the agent to ask questions at checkpoints such as description mismatches or overwriting an existing test; answer them rather than letting it guess.
