What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent to write a detailed JSON blueprint for a PowerPoint deck in which every object (text, shapes, lines, tables, images) has an exact position and size in inches, so the slides stay editable and do not rely on a renderer to guess layout. It sets rules such as keeping content inside a safe margin, keeping body text at 9 pt or larger, giving images alt text, and recording sources for claims. It also explains how a build script should construct the slides from that specification.
Great for
- Developers or automation builders who generate PowerPoint files programmatically and need predictable placement
- Teams producing many decks from structured content who want consistent grids and accessibility metadata
Skip it if
- People who just want a finished slide deck by typing a topic; this skill produces a specification, not the .pptx itself, and needs a separate builder script (the files do not supply one)
- Layouts that depend on automatic text fitting or renderer-side adjustments, since the contract forbids those behaviours by design
Try asking
- “Write a coordinate-explicit JSON spec for a five-slide quarterly results deck with native tables and charts placed on a shared grid”
- “Repair an existing layout_tree JSON where objects overlap the footer rail and text is below 9 pt”
- “Add accessibility metadata, alt text and source_ref fields to a deck specification”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Ask for the layout_policy values (safe margin, footer top, minimum gap) up front so the specification is consistent from the start
- Pair the spec with a builder script and open the output in PowerPoint to confirm editability and placement
- Provide your content and sources in the request so source_ref fields can be filled accurately
