What it does
When installed, the agent plans and writes code changes with a bias toward the smallest correct diff. Before writing new code it checks whether the change is needed at all, searches the codebase for existing helpers to reuse, and prefers standard library or already-installed tools over new dependencies. It still keeps safety checks such as input validation, error handling for data loss, security controls, accessibility basics, and anything the user explicitly asked for.
Great for
- Developers who want agents to avoid bloated or speculative code
- Teams reviewing diffs for size and scope creep
- Projects where reinvented helpers and unneeded dependencies are a recurring problem
Skip it if
- Requests for broad, feature-rich or future-proofed builds, since the skill says the user's explicit scope wins and it would conflict with that goal
- Throwaway or exploratory scaffolding, where the skill itself says not to apply it
Try asking
- “Implement this feature with the smallest possible diff, reusing existing helpers where they exist”
- “Review this proposed change and tell me which lines are speculative or duplicate existing code”
- “Fix this bug at its root cause rather than patching each reported symptom”
- “Add this small utility without introducing a new dependency unless it is truly needed”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- State your scope explicitly in the request, because explicit user scope overrides the minimization bias.
- Ask the agent to name the existing helpers it searched for, so you can confirm reuse actually happened.
- Pair with the ai-slop-cleaner skill mentioned in the file to clean up code after it has been written.
