What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent to run a localization workflow for a video game, which means preparing the game so it can be translated into other languages. It can scan source code for text that is hardcoded instead of wrapped for translation, extract strings into translation tables, validate translations for missing entries, placeholder errors and length problems, and produce status reports, translator briefs, cultural-review notes and right-to-left layout checks. Several modes are read-only; extract mode asks before writing new entries to the string file.
Great for
- Game developers preparing a project for multiple languages
- Localization leads who need coverage reports and translator briefings
- Teams wanting a checklist-style QA pass before a localized release
Skip it if
- Projects without a string table or game source code, because the skill reports NOT ASSESSED rather than useful results
- Professional translation itself: the agent flags issues and drafts context, but a human translator and native reviewer are still needed for quality and cultural accuracy
Try asking
- “/localize scan to find hardcoded strings in the UI code”
- “/localize extract to generate new translation keys and context comments for untranslated text”
- “/localize validate to check translations for placeholder mismatches and length violations”
- “/localize status to produce a coverage matrix across locales”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run scan first to see the scale of hardcoded text before extracting anything.
- Review the extract diff carefully before approving the write to strings-en.json.
- Keep the string table and design documents in the expected folders so status and brief modes can read them.
