What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent to run the KrillinAI command-line tool to create subtitle files for a video. Given a YouTube, Bilibili, or local video, the agent first tries to download the platform's existing captions, falls back to speech transcription (Whisper) if none exist, and then produces translated, bilingual, and short-form subtitle files. It also tells the agent how to check that the run succeeded and where to find the output files.
Great for
- Creators who want translated or bilingual subtitles for their own videos
- Marketers localizing a video for another language audience
- Students or researchers transcribing lecture videos they have the right to process
Skip it if
- Downloading or re-subtitling copyrighted videos you do not have permission to use, since the skill fetches media from the internet via yt-dlp
- Users without KrillinAI CLI installed, since the skill only orchestrates that tool and cannot work alone
- Tasks needing a fully offline workflow, because the skill may call external download and AI services
Try asking
- “Generate English-to-Chinese bilingual SRT subtitles from this YouTube link”
- “Create subtitles for the local file /videos/interview.mp4 and keep the original video for rendering”
- “Transcribe this Bilibili lecture with Whisper instead of platform captions”
- “Make a short vertical subtitle file from my tutorial video”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run the command with --dry-run first to validate the command shape before doing real downloads or AI calls
- Use a dedicated --workdir per task so outputs and krillinai_manifest.json do not get mixed up
- Check bilingual_srt.srt timing and readability yourself, since AI translation can make mistakes
