What it does
NanoClaw is a personal AI agent setup that talks to you through chat apps. This skill walks you step by step through connecting your first agent to a chat channel such as Discord, Slack, Telegram or WhatsApp. It finds your user ID on that channel, lets you pick or create an agent, and then has the agent send you a welcome direct message to prove that messages can get through end to end. The steps are designed to be safe to rerun.
Great for
- Operators setting up NanoClaw for the first time after installing a chat channel and its credentials
- Developers who want a guided check that a new channel adapter delivers messages correctly
Skip it if
- Anyone who has not yet configured channel credentials or started the NanoClaw service, since the steps will fail or stall
- People who only want a general chat assistant, because this skill only performs NanoClaw setup and wiring
Try asking
- “Set up my first NanoClaw agent on Discord and send me a welcome DM”
- “Wire my Telegram bot to a new agent called dm-with-alex and verify delivery”
- “Pick an existing NanoClaw agent group and connect it to my Slack DMs”

Get better results
- Have your channel's user ID ready before starting, and follow the channel's add- skill instructions to find it
- Send one message to the bot from your account before choosing the DM option for Discord, Slack, Teams, Webex or Google Chat, so the DM is recorded
