What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent to operate a command-line tool for Teltonika RMS, a cloud service that manages industrial routers, gateways and IoT devices. Once installed, the agent can list devices, check their status and location, review alerts and logs, manage users, companies, tags, SMTP settings, remote access sessions and reports, by running the cli-anything-rms commands against the RMS REST API. Many of these commands also create, update or delete live records.
Great for
- IT or fleet administrators who already manage Teltonika routers through RMS
- Developers building scripts or automations around RMS device data
- Operators who want an agent to summarise device status or pull alert and location history
Skip it if
- Anyone without an RMS account and API token, since nothing works without authentication (the skill cannot manage non-Teltonika equipment)
- Use on production fleets without review: commands such as devices delete, users delete, passwords update and remote-access create change live systems and can cause outages or lockouts
- Sharing or logging the API token in shared agent sessions, as it grants account-level access
Try asking
- “List all offline devices in my RMS account and group them by tag”
- “Show the location history for device 12345 for the last 50 entries”
- “Check recent alerts for device 12345 and summarise them”
- “Create an SMTP configuration for alert emails using our mail host”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Store the API token in an environment variable rather than pasting it into chat, and run auth test first to confirm connectivity.
- Ask the agent to list or get records before any delete or update, and confirm device IDs to avoid changing the wrong device.
- Use passwords update with --password-stdin rather than putting passwords on the command line, which the skill itself recommends as safer.
