What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent how to talk to small electronic parts (sensors, OLED screens, clocks, power monitors) wired to Sipeed single-board computers such as LicheeRV Nano, MaixCAM, and NanoKVM, using the I2C and SPI buses. Once installed, the agent can list buses, scan for connected devices, and read or write registers using the i2c and spi tools, and it has reference notes on pin setup and common chips like the AHT20 and BME280. It also asks for confirmation before any write and checks addresses and transfer sizes before sending them.
Great for
- Makers building sensor projects on a Sipeed board who want an agent to read temperature or other values
- Developers prototyping hardware interfaces who want help looking up register maps and wiring fixes
- Hobbyists debugging a non-responding I2C or SPI device
Skip it if
- Production or safety-critical systems, because the skill depends on board-specific pinmux commands and devmem edits that can break WiFi or other pins (reason: shared-pin conflicts are documented)
- Boards or hardware that are not Sipeed devices, since the pinout and bus notes are specific to those boards (reason: the reference files cover Sipeed boards only)
Try asking
- “Scan the I2C bus on my LicheeRV Nano and tell me what devices are connected”
- “Read the temperature and humidity from my AHT20 sensor”
- “Show me how to set up pinmux on MaixCAM so I can use SPI”
- “Why is my I2C device returning no response when I run a scan?”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Ask the agent to run i2c detect and i2c scan first so it confirms the current bus number, since bus numbers can change between boots.
- Stop WiFi before using shared pins if the board requires it, and remember WiFi and I2C-1/SPI-2 cannot be used at the same time.
- Review any write request carefully; the skill requires confirm: true, so check the target address and data before approving.
