What it does

Once installed, the agent can work with Google Meet through the gws command-line tool. It can create meeting spaces, look up or change their details, end a meeting that is still running, and list past conference records along with their participants, recordings, transcripts and smart notes. Before calling any method, the agent is told to check the available commands and their required parameters.

Great for

  • Google Workspace admins or staff who want to manage Meet meetings through an assistant
  • Developers automating meeting creation or reviewing past meeting records
  • Teams that want to pull transcripts or participant lists from past calls

Skip it if

  • People without a Google Workspace account or without the gws tool set up, since the skill cannot work without them
  • Anyone wanting to join or record a live call directly, because the skill only calls the Meet API and does not control the call interface
  • Use on sensitive meetings without review: it can end active conferences and change meeting settings, and transcripts or recordings may contain private data

Try asking

  • “Create a new Meet space for tomorrow's project review and give me the join link”
  • “List the conference records from last week and show who attended each one”
  • “Fetch the transcript for the most recent conference record and summarise the action items”
  • “End the active conference in my space abc-defg-hij”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Google Meet ManagerInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    gws-meet.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip gws-meet.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip gws-meet.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Ask the agent to run the schema inspection step first so parameters are correct before any create or end action.
  • Be explicit when asking to end a conference or change a space, since these affect live meetings.
  • Check that the gws-shared auth setup is in place before use, and review transcript or recording content for privacy before sharing it.
