What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent to send an email from your Google account using the gws command-line tool. Once installed, when you ask the agent to email someone, it can compose the message with recipients, subject, body, CC/BCC, attachments (up to 25MB total), and HTML formatting, or save it as a draft instead. The skill itself is only instructions; the actual sending happens through the gws tool, which must already be set up and authenticated with your Google account.
Great for
- People who want an agent to send routine emails or drafts from their Gmail account
- Developers automating email notifications through the gws CLI
- Users who send from a send-as alias and want the agent to pick the right sender address
Skip it if
- Anyone who has not set up gws and signed in to Google, since the skill cannot send without it
- Sending sensitive or irreversible messages without review, because sent email cannot be recalled and the skill tells the agent to confirm before running
- Bulk or unsolicited mass mailing, which this single-recipient-style command is not designed for and which may breach Gmail policies
Try asking
- “Send an email to alice@example.com with the subject 'Hello' and a short greeting”
- “Draft an email with the Q3 report attached as report.pdf but don't send it yet”
- “Send an HTML-formatted update with bold text, CC my manager”
- “Send an email from my alias address alias@example.com”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Ask the agent to show a --dry-run preview or draft first, then confirm the recipients and content before it sends
- Double-check recipient addresses, since sent email cannot be undone
- Use --draft when you want to review the message in Gmail before it goes out
