What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent to reply to everyone on an existing Gmail email using the gws command-line tool. The agent can add or remove recipients, attach files, use HTML formatting, or save the reply as a draft instead of sending it. Gmail keeps the reply in the same conversation thread automatically.
Great for
- People who regularly answer group emails and want the agent to draft or send the replies
- Developers or ops staff automating email follow-ups from a known Gmail message ID
- Anyone who wants to test a reply safely by saving it as a draft or using dry-run first
Skip it if
- Sending a reply without review: the command actually sends email to real recipients unless --draft or --dry-run is used, so mistakes reach people immediately
- Users without the gws tool installed and authenticated to a Google account, since the skill cannot work without them
- Searching or reading mail: this skill only replies to a message ID that is already known
Try asking
- “Reply all to message 18f1a2b3c4d saying the meeting time works for me”
- “Reply all to the thread but remove bob@example.com from the recipients”
- “Save a draft reply-all with the attached notes.pdf so I can review it first”
- “Reply all and add eve@example.com in CC”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Always use --dry-run or --draft first to check recipients and content before sending to a group.
- Use --remove to drop people from the reply, but note the command fails if no To recipient remains.
- Run gws generate-skills if the shared authentication skill is missing.
