What it does

This skill teaches an AI agent how to work with Discord servers through a general message tool instead of a Discord-specific one. Once installed, the agent knows the correct request formats for sending messages (including files, polls and rich layouts), reading recent messages, editing or deleting messages, reacting, pinning, creating threads and searching. It also follows house rules, such as avoiding Markdown tables in Discord and mentioning users in the right format.

Get better results

  • Give the agent explicit channel, guild and message IDs rather than names to avoid posting in the wrong place.
  • Check channels.discord.actions settings first; roles, moderation, presence and channels are off by default and must be enabled deliberately.
  • Ask the agent to preview outbound messages before sending when posting to busy or public channels.
