What it does

When installed, the agent walks you through connecting Telegram, Discord, or Slack so it can send you messages when a session ends, when it is waiting for your input, or when background tasks finish. It asks you questions step by step, such as your bot token and chat ID, saves the settings to a configuration file in your Claude config folder, and can send a test message to confirm it works. The Telegram section is the most detailed in the file; Discord and Slack are only listed as options in the routing section.

Great for

  • Developers who run long Claude Code tasks and want a phone or desktop alert when they finish or need a reply
  • Users of oh-my-claudecode (OMC) who want to set up its notification integrations without editing config files by hand

Skip it if

  • Anyone uncomfortable pasting a bot token or webhook URL into an AI chat, since those are credentials that grant control of the bot or channel; the skill stores the Telegram token in a plain JSON config file
  • Users who need Discord or Slack setup guidance in detail, because the file only fully documents the Telegram steps

Try asking

  • “Set up notifications so I get a Telegram message when my session ends”
  • “Configure Telegram alerts for when Claude needs my input”
  • “Help me set up a Discord webhook for OMC notifications”
  • “Test my Slack notification setup”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Configure NotificationsInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    configure-notifications.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip configure-notifications.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip configure-notifications.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Create a dedicated bot for notifications rather than reusing one with other permissions, and revoke the token in BotFather if you stop using it
  • Send /start to your bot before testing, otherwise Telegram returns a 'chat not found' error
