What it does

After you ship a feature, this skill reads your pull request, diff, changelog and recent commits, then writes short announcement copy for channels like an X post, LinkedIn post, email, or changelog line. It focuses on what users can now do rather than how the code works, and it never posts anything itself; you copy the drafts and publish them yourself. If the optional Spiral writing tool is installed and logged in, drafts can be matched to your brand voice, otherwise the agent drafts from general writing guidelines.

Great for

  • Developers who ship features and want announcement copy without waiting for a marketing pass
  • Small teams with no dedicated marketer writing release posts
  • Founders announcing a release on social media or in a newsletter

Skip it if

  • Final brand or legal sign-off on public claims, since drafts can overstate what shipped and a human should check them before publishing
  • Repositories where the agent cannot read the git history or PR, because the drafts would then be guesses about what changed

Try asking

  • “Draft an X thread and a LinkedIn post for the CSV export feature I just merged”
  • “Write a one-line changelog entry and an email announcement for the new dark mode”
  • “Create a 3-step demo script for our new billing dashboard”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Launch Copy DrafterInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 3 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    ce-promote.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip ce-promote.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip ce-promote.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give the skill a short description of what shipped and which channels you want, for example 'a tweet thread and a LinkedIn post', so it does not have to guess.
  • Check every claim in the drafts against the real feature before you publish, especially numbers and availability.
  • Ask for revisions on tone, length or angle; the skill offers this after presenting the drafts.
