What it does
Once installed, the agent can run a command that reads emails under a chosen Gmail label, pulls out job posting links from emails that pass a sender-authenticity check (DMARC), filters out tracking and unsubscribe links, and hands the resulting job title, URL, company and location to the career-ops engine, which adds new ones to your pipeline. It remembers which emails it has already processed so it does not reread them.
Great for
- Job seekers who receive job alerts by email and want them collected in one pipeline
- Developers already using the career-ops tool who want Gmail as a lead source
Skip it if
- Anyone uncomfortable granting a tool OAuth access to their Gmail account, since it reads email content and needs a refresh token with ongoing access
- Users who do not already run career-ops, because the skill only feeds its pipeline and is not useful alone
Try asking
- “Run the gmail plugin to import new job leads from my 'Job Leads' label”
- “Pull job links from the last 7 days of job alert emails into my pipeline”
- “Check my Gmail job label and add any new postings to career-ops”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Use a dedicated Gmail label so only job alerts are read, and keep days_back small to limit scope
- Store the OAuth credentials only in the local .env file and never commit it to version control
- Review the imported leads in the pipeline before applying, since link filtering is heuristic and may miss or include some URLs
