What it does

When a game project's bug list grows, this skill makes the agent read the bug reports, separate how bad each bug is (severity) from how urgently it must be fixed (priority), and produce a dated triage report at production/qa/bug-triage-[date].md. It can assign fixable bugs to the current sprint, defer the rest, and point out patterns such as many bugs in one system or regressions in stories marked complete. A read-only trend mode is also available.

Great for

  • Game studios or solo developers using the Claude Code game-studios template who track bugs as markdown files
  • QA leads preparing sprint planning who need a prioritised bug list
  • Producers who want to spot systemic quality problems across a backlog

Skip it if

  • Projects that track bugs in an issue tracker like Jira or GitHub Issues, since the skill only reads markdown files in production/qa/ and will find nothing to triage
  • Teams wanting automatic changes to their tracker: the skill writes local report files and may edit files, so review its output before relying on it
  • Very small backlogs under about 10 bugs, where the overhead adds little value

Try asking

  • “/bug-triage sprint to assign fixable bugs to the current sprint and defer the rest”
  • “/bug-triage full to re-evaluate the whole open backlog against severity and priority definitions”
  • “/bug-triage trend for a read-only report on bug volume, hot-spot systems and regressions”
  • “Run bug triage now that we have 15 open bugs after the last QA pass”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    bug-triage.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip bug-triage.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip bug-triage.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Keep bug files in production/qa/bugs/ with bolded fields such as **Severity**, **Priority**, **Status** and **System** so the trend grep can find them.
  • Use the trend mode first to see volume and hot spots before running a full triage that edits files.
  • Review the generated report and any sprint assignments before accepting them, because the agent makes judgement calls on severity.
