What it does
When an agent needs Google Workspace (Drive, Gmail, Sheets, Calendar, Chat), Google Cloud, or MCP tools but the command is missing, this skill gives it a verified recipe to install Node and the matching command-line tool and log in. It stores login credentials in a persistent workspace folder so they survive sandbox upgrades, and it checks for an existing connected token before asking for new setup. It only sets up tools and then hands off to other skills for actual usage.
Great for
- Developers running an agent in a sandboxed environment who need Google Workspace or GCP access
- Teams automating Drive, Sheets or Gmail tasks through the gws CLI
- Anyone whose agent hit a 'command not found' error for gws, gcloud, agents-cli or mcp-cli
Skip it if
- Local machines where these tools are already installed and configured, since the skill assumes a specific sandbox layout (/workspace, ~/.local) and is unnecessary there
- Unattended jobs without a service account, because interactive OAuth login needs a user to paste a redirect URL; and anyone wanting to avoid storing Google credentials in a shared folder
Try asking
- “Install gws and connect my Google Drive so you can list my recent Sheets”
- “command not found: gcloud, set up the Google Cloud CLI and log in”
- “Set up mcp-cli so you can call the tools on our internal MCP server”
- “Install Node and gws, then check whether my Gmail messages can be read”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Use the Connect Workspace button in the web UI first so the agent can use a pre-injected token without manual OAuth setup
- Install only the one tool the task needs, since the tools are independent
- Store OAuth client files in the persistent config folder so you do not repeat login after sandbox upgrades
