What it does
When installed, the agent can take an EPUB or PDF book you provide and write a personalized analysis. For each chapter it summarizes the content in detail ("The Chapter") and then offers gentle observations linking the ideas to your own situations, people, and patterns drawn from your personal knowledge base ("The Mirror"). The output is saved as a single page in a media/books folder, with an optional PDF version. It is meant to be a friendly observer, not a summary tool or an advisor telling you what to change.
Great for
- Readers who keep a personal knowledge base (gbrain) and want books connected to their own life
- People working through self-help, relationship, or business books who want reflective parallels
- Users comfortable running command-line tools to extract text from ebooks
Skip it if
- People who only want a plain book summary, since the skill is built around personal mirroring and says to use another skill for that
- Sharing sensitive personal context: the analysis pulls personal notes and people pages from your brain, so review the output before sharing it
- Books you have no right to use; the skill intentionally does not download books and the user must supply the file
Try asking
- “Mirror this book: /path/to/atomic-habits.epub”
- “How does this book apply to me? The book is at ~/Downloads/book.pdf”
- “Give me a personalized version of this book with a chapter-by-chapter mirror”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Review the generated page before sharing, since it may contain details from your personal notes
- Spot-check the extracted chapter files to exclude front matter like table of contents and copyright pages
- Ask for a flat summary separately if you want a neutral overview without personal connections
