What it does

Once installed, when you ask your agent to tweet or publish something on X, it follows a detailed playbook: it drives a real Chrome browser that is logged into your X account, fills in the post or article editor, uploads images or video, and stops before the final Publish button so you can confirm. For long Markdown articles it converts the text to rich HTML, copies it to the clipboard, and pastes it into X's editor, uploading body images one by one. Helper scripts handle Markdown conversion, clipboard copying and checking paste permissions.

Great for

  • Creators who publish regular posts or threads to X and want the agent to handle the typing and uploads
  • Writers who keep articles in Markdown (including Obsidian notes with images) and want them formatted into X Articles
  • Developers already comfortable with Bun, Chrome and running local scripts

Skip it if

  • People who do not want an agent to control their logged-in browser: it uses your real Chrome profile and X session, so mistakes could affect your account
  • Fully automated bulk or scheduled posting: the skill is built around a human confirming each post, and X may restrict automated activity
  • Users on platforms other than macOS/Windows/Linux Chrome setups where the scripts have not been checked

Try asking

  • “Post this text with these three images to X and wait for me to confirm before publishing”
  • “Publish my article draft.md as an X Article, including the images in the body”
  • “Share this link and summary as a tweet on X using Chrome Computer Use”
  • “Quote-tweet this post with my comment”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Post to X (Twitter)Install, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 15 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    baoyu-post-to-x.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip baoyu-post-to-x.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip baoyu-post-to-x.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Review the draft in X before confirming; the skill is designed never to click Publish without your explicit approval in the conversation.
  • Use a dedicated Chrome profile or check the profile isolation warning from check-paste-permissions.ts if you are worried about exposing your main account.
  • For article images, use local file paths and the Obsidian or standard Markdown image syntax the skill documents so placeholders map correctly.
