What it does
When an AI coding agent writes or edits code comments, this skill makes it follow a set of rules that spot filler comments such as decorative banners, restated obvious code, step-by-step narration, vague TODOs, and emoji. The agent removes or shortens those and keeps comments that explain business rules, edge cases, side effects, or security implications. It is restricted to comments only and is told never to change executable code, identifiers, formatting, or logic.
Great for
- Developers who review AI-generated code and want cleaner, more useful comments
- Teams that want a consistent comment style across code an agent produces
- People already using the companion antislop.md core rules, which this skill references
Skip it if
- Projects where the agent must not touch files at all, since this skill edits source files in place (the edits are limited to comments, but they are still writes)
- Codebases that rely on specific comment formats, such as tooling-parsed annotations, unless you check the skill's rules first, because it may remove comments a tool expects
- Anyone expecting it to work alone: the SKILL.md refers to antislop.md and a Delivery Gate in the core, which are not included in the provided files
Try asking
- “Clean up the comments in this file and remove any decorative banners or step-by-step narration.”
- “Review the comments I added to the payment module and keep only the ones that explain non-obvious behaviour.”
- “Edit the comments in this function so they are short, plain, and free of emoji.”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Load it alongside antislop.md, since the skill depends on the core rules it cites.
- Review the diff afterwards, especially for comments that look like documentation or TODOs with real tasks.
- Ask the agent to limit changes to one file or folder when you first try it.
