What it does

This skill is a step-by-step setup guide that lets an AI agent add Microsoft Teams as a messaging channel for the NanoClaw assistant. The agent copies a Teams adapter from the project's channels branch, registers it, installs a pinned adapter package, and runs a build and test. It then walks you through creating a Teams bot with the Microsoft Teams CLI and saving its credentials to your local .env file.

Great for

  • Developers self-hosting NanoClaw who want the assistant available inside their Microsoft 365 organisation
  • Teams admins who can sideload custom apps and create Entra app registrations

Skip it if

  • Users on free personal Teams accounts, which the skill says do not qualify for sideloading (the setup would fail).
  • Anyone who does not want a public HTTPS tunnel or webhook exposed from their machine, since the setup requires one and it receives messages from Microsoft.

Try asking

  • “Add Microsoft Teams as a channel to my NanoClaw assistant”
  • “Set up the Teams bot and give me the install link”
  • “My Teams tunnel URL changed, how do I update the bot?”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 3 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    add-teams.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip add-teams.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip add-teams.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Start the HTTPS tunnel before running the setup, because the bot creation step needs the public URL up front.
  • Check .env first: if Teams credentials already exist, the skill skips creation, and re-running creates a new app registration each time.
  • Review the copied adapter and the global CLI install before approving, since the skill executes build, test and install commands and handles bot secrets.
