What it does
This skill teaches an AI coding agent to set up a small native macOS menu bar icon for NanoClaw, a project you run on your own computer. The icon shows a green dot when NanoClaw is running and a red dot when it is stopped, and lets you start, stop or restart it from the menu. The agent compiles a Swift program on your Mac, registers it to launch at login with macOS's launchd system, and checks that it is running.
Great for
- Developers who run NanoClaw locally on a Mac and want quick visual status and controls
- Users who often restart NanoClaw after code changes and want a one-click Restart
Skip it if
- Windows or Linux users, because the skill is macOS only and needs Apple's swiftc compiler (Xcode Command Line Tools)
- People who do not want a background program auto-starting at login, since the launchd agent is set to run at load and keep alive
Try asking
- “Add a macOS menu bar status indicator for NanoClaw”
- “Set up the NanoClaw status bar so I can start and restart it from the menu bar”
- “Check whether the NanoClaw menu bar app is already installed”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run the skill from the NanoClaw project root so the absolute project path in the launchd plist is correct.
- Review the generated plist and the Swift source in add/src before loading it, since it will run automatically at login.
- To remove it cleanly, follow the REMOVE.md instructions rather than deleting files by hand.
